On archaeology in the Tobol river region: analysis of chance finds of arrowheads (6th–4th centuries BC) outside the town of Jitiqara

The article for the first time introduces data on the artifacts of the early Iron Age from the vicinity of the city of Jitiqara. It also presents preliminary results obtained in the course of exploratory archaeological work on the territory of the Jitiqara district, where 39 monuments of the era of early nomads and the Middle Ages were recorded, including 173 objects: single mounds, burial mounds, including with stone ridges, cult and ritual structures. In addition, the detachment recorded eight Kazakh cemeteries of Modern times. In the future, this material will become the basis for mapping and revealing the features of the process of sacralizing the landscape in time. During the work, it was possible to get acquainted with the collection of lifting material collected on the surface of the kurgans of the Besoba 1 burial mound, the Besoba 1 single kurgan and the Karatobe 1 burial mound, which are mainly represented by bronze arrowheads. Most of the arrowheads are three-bladed, one copy is marked as triangular and another one as rhombic two-bladed. Preliminary analysis of the material allows us to attribute the collection of arrows to the Savromatic and Early Sarmatian time in the range of 6th–4th centuries BC. In general, the obtained material shows the prospects and expediency of further archaeological research in the region.
