Ceramics of the "Dongal type" in the materials of the monuments of the steppe and forest-steppe Altai

The paper discusses the results of studying ceramics of the “Dongal type” originating from the settlements of the Late Bronze Age and the transitional time from Bronze to Iron in the forest-steppe and steppe Altai. Based on the data obtained from the materials of the settlements of Kalinovka-II, Rublevo-VI, Zharkovo-3, Burla-3, a generalized characteristic is made, including a description of the forms of vessels, methods and zones of ornamentation, motifs and compositions used in decor, raw materials and molding masses. Statistical calculations are given for each of the designated areas of analysis. Comparison of the received data between monuments is carried out. As a result, common and individual features of pottery from single complexes of the region, local differences in collections from different parts of Kulunda are determined, and the obtained data are compared with the complexes of Kazakhstan. The author comes to the conclusion that the Dongal-type ceramics found on the sites of both regions has a high degree of similarity in terms of forms and ornamentation. In technical and technological terms, both similarities and differences are noted, primarily related to the geographical features of the regions. Based on the results of the study, a conclusion is made about a single vector of development of the two regions - Altai and Kazakhstan, constant contacts of the population, its interaction and interpenetration.
